Super CarpetsWinterplace Ski and Snowboard School provides a fun and educational experience for our skiing and snowboarding guests in a safe, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.  We promise you will learn how to ski or snowboard or you can take the class again Absolutely FREE!  Teaching First Timers is a proud tradition at Winterplace.  Winterplace is proud member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America.  No one does it better, no one makes it more Fun! The Ski School meets at the ski school bell located behind the Resort Center slopeside deck next to the top of Chairlift 5.


Skiers and boarders learn the basics on our Specially Designed Teaching area with 2 Super Carpet Lifts.  Then beginner skiers and boarders may move on to our chairlifts which open up a variety of beginner slopes (green circle trails) to practice your stops and turns. Yes! Now you're really skiing and riding!




Learn-To-Ski & Snowboard Package:

Learn-To-Ski & Snowboard  - The ultimate entry level program.  Package includes a Full Day Beginner Lift Ticket, Equipment Rental & a 90 Minute Group Lesson. A beginner lift ticket is valid for lifts 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7.  Lessons begin at 10am on weekdays and are given at 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 7pm.  Lessons begin at 8am on weekends and holiday periods and are given on the hour, every hour until 7pm.

Lift, Lesson & Rental Package:

Hone your skills with the Lift, Lesson and Rental Package.  You will enjoy the full mountain experience with an All Day Full Mountain Lift Ticket, Equipment Rental and a 90 minute group lesson. Improve your technique and learn to handle all conditions from bumps to powder.  Lessons are availabe for all ability levels from beginner to expert.

Ski School Lessons:

Group Lessons - Enjoy the fun and dynamics of a group lesson.  Group lessons are available for skiers and snowboarders.  Group lessons are divided according to age and ability level.  Class size ranges from 8 to 10 students per class.  Group lesson times are available every two hours starting at 10am until 7pm on weekdays and every hour starting at 8am on weekends and holidays. Class length - 90 minutes; limited to ages 6 and up. The Special Add-On Group Lesson Ticket must be purchased at the same time and same day as your lift ticket.

Private Lessons - The ultimate learning experience for skiers and snowboarders. A one on one teacher to student ratio where all the learning happens at your pace. Select your own instructor or we can select one for you based on your present skills.  Private Lessons available on the hour starting at 9am on weekdays till 7pm and 8am on weekends till 7pm.  Class length - 60 minutes; class size limited to 4 persons.  Call to reserve your Private Lesson - 1-800-607-SNOW, Ext. 122.

* To purchase the Semi-private lesson you must first purchase a private lesson and then each additional person would cost $28.  Example: Two people taking a private lesson at the same time, with the same instructor would cost $60. + $30. = $90.


Adaptive Program:

The Adaptive Program is designed for people with visual, hearing impairment, developmental and cognitive disabilities, amputees, cerebral palsy, spina bifida or traumatic brain injury.  This program gives the person a chance to experience the thrill of skiing!  The lesson duration is a 2 hour minimum.  It is recommended that those in this program take 2 sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon with a rest period in between. 

2 track - For any skier who can stand on both feet but may need outriggers for balance.  Applicable to persons with visual and hearing impairment and those with developmental and cognitive disabilities.

3 & 4 track - For skiers who can stand upright but may need additional support to remain balanced (outriggers).  Best for students with leg amputation, cerebral palsy, arthritis, spina bifida or traumatic brain injury.

Bi-Ski & Mono-Ski - For skiers with significant lower extremity or trunk weakness and those with difficulty standing or balancing. They are seated in a device that allows those with the severe balance impairment to experience the fun of skiing!
