What Did You Do This Summer?!

We are entering the second year of our 3 year snowmaking system upgrade project.  Last year, 35 fully automated SMI Polecats were put into operation.  This year another 53 fully automatic SMI Polecats are being added to bring the total number of automated fan guns to 88.  Next year, our goal is to have 100% of the tower mounted fan guns fully automated.  The automated system allows us to get the guns up and running with the click of a mouse utilizing SMI’s Smartsnow software.  This system allows us to take advantage of any snowmaking windows of opportunity much more efficiently than a manual snowmaking system.

In addition to snowmaking improvements we are adding a new terrain park on Hickory which is a trail just off the top of Chairlift 4! The new terrain park will more than double the size of our existing terrain park! Can't wait till ski season!
